Sighthill TRA Contract 2 Infrastructure installation project

Meet the team

It takes a team of industry professionals working with carefully selected subcontractors and supply chain partners to deliver each one of our projects. You can find out more about some of the Morgan Sindall Infrastructure team members – and learn about the roles they play in this project – below.

Roger Reid Project Director

I provide contract management support to the site team and take an overview on customer and stakeholder / community issues. Originally from Aberdeenshire, I have lived and worked in the Glasgow area for 33 years. Previous projects I have worked on include the M80, M77, M8 and M74 motorways.

I am a member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Institution of Highways & Transportation.

Stephen O’Brien Project Manager

I’ve worked for Morgan Sindall since I graduated from Glasgow University in 2001.

I manage the whole project including supporting and approving many of the community benefit initiatives we carry out through the project. I am responsible for all aspects of site work. Operational, programme and commercial performance is ultimately down to me, supported by the team.

Chris Ebsworth Site Agent (Earthworks)

I’m responsible for managing earthworks on site, from managing our subcontractor and site team, to liaising with the customer.

I have also been carrying out presentations and site visits with students from Glasgow Kelvin College, and helped organise Bridges to Schools and the Big Bang event where our site engineers have visited schools to encourage children to take an interest in civil engineering.

Martyn Kerr Site Agent (Drainage)

I manage overall responsibility for the delivery of the drainage works including the Pinkston Road Sewer Diversion. This involves 20 metre deep shafts and a 1.2 metre diameter tunnel.

I am a member of the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) and have been involved in the ICE Bridges to Schools event and aim to take part in more community work during the project.

Richard McDermott Section Engineer

I manage a team of engineers on the earthworks section of the project and also planning the hard landscaping works – ordering granite from China for use in kerbs, paving and street furniture.

I’m from Glasgow and it gives me satisfaction knowing I am making a difference to my city.

I’m currently mentoring one school pupil as part of the MCR Pathways 12, a schools-based mentoring programme that helps young people to fulfil their potential.

In your community

Making a positive difference in the communities we work is a vital part of our sustainability strategy. Our Community Investment Group supports our project teams in the delivery of local community engagement projects.
