Sighthill, in the north of the city, is the largest of eight Transformational Regeneration Areas (TRAs) in Glasgow.
The regeneration of Sighthill will deliver:
• new homes for rent and for sale
• commercial and retail units
• an updated parkland with quality public realm
• new road and cycle ways
• a new road bridge across the Edinburgh to Glasgow railway line
• a new cycle and pedestrian bridge across the M8 linking the new neighbourhood to the city.
The preparation of platforms for housing, new utilities and connections to existing utilities (sewers and water mains), and the provision of roads and pavements, parkland and the public areas are being delivered by Morgan Sindall Infrastructure as Contract 2.
The completion of Contract 2 is expected with the handover of the later development sites during Spring / Summer 2020.
The Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) is a national initiative set up by the construction industry. Sites and companies that register with the scheme are monitored against a Code of Considerate Practice, designed to encourage best practice beyond statutory requirements. The scheme focuses on any area of construction activity that may have a direct or indirect impact on the image of the industry as a whole. You can find further CCS details on the ‘CCS’ page.
Being safe is of paramount importance to all of us at Morgan Sindall Infrastructure. We see it as critical that our people, and those who are affected by our activities, benefit from an incident free environment. We operate a 100% Safe policy on all our projects where we aim to exceed legal safety requirements.
As well as being part of the CCS we are committed to minimising the impact on the local Sighthill community. Our main access and egress to the site is positioned such as to minimise the number of site vehicles and journeys in Sighthill itself.
We recycle a huge amount of our waste, whether this is arising from site excavations being reused on site or through our rubbish being segregated and taken to be recycled off site. Most of the heavy plant we use is fitted with modern technology to cut emissions, and even the day-to-day generators and tower lights are now fitted with rechargeable batteries to save fuel.
You can find out more about the companies involved in the project in the 'working with...' banner at the bottom of the page.
