Winter on the way
As winter arrives, we’re making progress on a variety of elements of the site.
New church and temporary church: While a new church for St Rollox (Church of Scotland) is being constructed, a temporary building construction by Morgan Sindall is being occupied. The vacant old church building is undergoing pre-demolition surveys.
Hill Circus / utilities: The Hill Circus area at the South of the site (adjacent to the M8 motorway) will be the first area to be completed and handed over to the customer and their developer Keepmoat. Utilities have all been installed to this area, enabling work to add kerbing to begin. We’ve also made a start laying tarmac road surfaces.
Landscaping is progressing on several fronts. Tree cells are being installed in the Civic Boulevard area on Hill Circus, while at Cowlairs we’re constructing a new road from the new railway bridge into the site. The area adjacent to the new road is being prepared to receive trees – we plan to plant 25 per day. Alongside the railway we’re progressing with landscaping of the railway embankment through the addition of topsoil.
